This wonderful and accessible lodge is located in the lower part of the Buenaventura Reserve, 500 m high. It has a rest area near the drinkers of the Hummingbirds, Chachalacas and Tangaras, so it will make your stay a wonderful experience, you can also watch Coats roaming the area.

Activities and Biodiversity
This reserve is home to a remarkable set of flora and fauna, which includes almost 300 species of birds, many of them endemic. The special climatic conditions have given rise to a great variety of habitats used by these species.
Footpath 1: "Umbrellabird" this trail has safety railings and paved soil, but it is only marked up to the long-beaked Umbrellabird lek (courtship area). It lasts 1.5 hours, has a distance of 2 km and difficulty is moderate.
Trail 2: "Scenic route" a well maintained and paved path that used to be part of the old Machala-Piñas highway, crosses the Buenaventura Reserve and allows to easily observe the biodiversity of the area. You will have several opportunities to observe singing birds during the whole trip. This trail is one of the road accesses to the lodge, and connects the sanctuary of the Virgin Mary with the Umbrellabird Lodge. It is also ideal for trekking and mountain biking. It lasts 4 hours, has a distance of 7 km and its difficulty is moderate.
Path 3: "Perico" trail with cobblestone ground, offers a panoramic view of the Reserve and Cerro Buenaventura. It lasts 1.5 hours, has a distance of 1 km and its difficulty is moderate.
Path 4: "Tapaculo" has a duration of 1.5 hours, distance of 2 km and its difficulty is moderate to high.
